Helen Astle

Helen is an executive level corporate lawyer and has primarily advised boards of regulated organisations on legal, governance and regulatory compliance matters. She has worked across various sectors, namely pensions, financial services, healthcare, housing, IT and rail safety.

In recent years, Helen has worked in pensions and investments, and from 2020 to 2022 held the role of Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for the London Pensions Fund Authority, a large defined benefit local government pension fund. Helen is currently a non-executive director of CILEX Regulation Limited, a legal regulator.

Earlier in her career, Helen practised as a dual qualified registered nurse with 11 years’ clinical experience, before moving into financial management, corporate finance, and banking. Helen then returned to healthcare working as a senior manager before developing her career as an executive director in healthcare and other regulated sectors.

Helen is a solicitor, chartered governance professional and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. She holds an MBA and Master of Laws degree in Corporate Governance and Law.
