Hi. My name is Jat. I'm the Contact Centre Manager at TPT. I manage the inbound calls and outbound calls that come into the business. So a typical day is always varied, that's one of the things I love about it, you never know what's going to happen from day to day. For example, the volume of calls or the type of queries you get, you know that you're helping the rest of the administration team and the business. The best part of it is making sure that members queries have been answered and we're helping people.
We're a fun team and that's what I love about it, there's so much energy, so much high vibes and we all get on as a good family unit, that's definitely the selling point for me.
The growth I've had at TPT in last 15 years, I've seen me grow as a person. I've seen how I deal with situations differently. I'm a lot more calm, professional, just dealing with things, taking any challenge and like right what's going on, how do I deal with this today and doing it with a smile, I think that's the key and I think my staff really appreciate that and nothing's too much, we'll deal with it together.
I think after COVID we just realised we are busy, but I think it's just the world in general. What's amazing is working together. One thing I said to my team is be open and communicate and we can only do what we can do as long as we do it together. It's a challenge. But going home each evening thinking 'you know what we we did really well', we did the best that we could and that's fantastic for me.
Working in pensions was not the plan. I was working in retail first during whilst I was at uni and I realised I was coming to the end of my exams and I felt like I needed a 'proper job' and I went to an agency and they got me a job in a pensions company, I then worked for a financial advisors and then I moved to TPT 15 years ago and never looked back.
Well, I deal with new staff coming in all the time. One thing that I always said to them is TPT is a fantastic organisation. I wouldn't have been here 15 years ago if it wasn't, one thing I always say is you'll get out what you put in. I've had so many new people start and said I've never worked for a company like this before, people who actually care, people who are really high up, who know my name and come and ask me, how is my day? I think that's the difference with TPT, we really do care.
